At the same time he killed the king’s officer who was forcing them to sacrifice, and he tore down the altar: At the same time is rendered simply “also” by Good News Bible. Contemporary English Version expresses this phrase better with “Then.” For the king’s officer, see the comments on verse 15. Who was forcing them to sacrifice may be expressed as “who was trying to force them to offer sacrifices to foreign gods.”
