Judas also fell, and the rest fled: Good News Bible adds “Finally” for effect; other languages may find this helpful. The rest refers to all the Jewish soldiers who were not killed or seriously wounded. Presumably the reader of Revised Standard Version would understand this, but it is not actually clear. A model for this verse that makes it clear is:

• Finally Judas himself was killed. Then all the Jews who were left fled.
