Saul’s reply was either who are you, Lord? (Good News Translation and most translations) or “who are you, sir?” The problem is that the word may mean either Lord or “sir.” Moffatt deliberately left this word untranslated (as in 10.4; 22.8; and 26.15), since, according to him, “any English rendering would imply too much or too little.” Though it may be risking the possibility of implying too much, it seems best in the context to translate by the technical Christian term Lord.
