Translation commentary on 2 Esdras 11:10

And I looked, and behold, the voice did not come from his heads, but from the midst of his body: For And I looked, and behold, see 2Esdras 11.2. We suggest Good News Bible as a model for this verse, but some translators may have a problem with Ezra looking in order to hear something. However, do not try to make logical sense here since it is not supposed to be logical. For translators who find Good News Bible‘s model difficult to follow here, the following one of Contemporary English Version may be helpful:

• Then I realized that the voice was coming from the middle of the eagle’s body and not from one of its heads.
