He answered and said to me may be rendered simply “Uriel said.”

Rise to your feet and you will hear a full, resounding voice: Stone (page 166) suggests quite reasonably that a full, resounding voice is a deliberate contrast to the quiet voice of God in 1 Kgs 19.12.

Good News Bible provides a helpful model for this verse, and so does Contemporary English Version as follows:

• Uriel answered, “Stand up, and you will hear a loud voice.
