18Then I will come and tell you, so that you may go out with your whole army, and not one of them will be able to withstand you.
I will come and tell you: She will tell him when the Israelites have sinned. Good News Translation adds “As soon as I find out” for clarity.
Then you shall go out with your whole army may be rendered “so that you can lead your soldiers out to fight against the Israelites.”
Not one of them will withstand you: Good News Translation‘s “The Israelites will not be able to defend themselves against you” is perhaps too general. Judith makes a strong statement, so a better rendering is “not a single one of them will offer any resistance [or, try to fight you].”
