Translation commentary on Luke 4:37

Exegesis:

exeporeueto ‘went out,’ synonymous with exēlthen (cf. on v. 14).

ēchos (†, to be distinguished from ēchos in 21.25) ‘report,’ ‘news.’

eis panta topon tēs perichōrou ‘to every place of the surrounding district,’ i.e. the district surrounding Capernaum.

Translation:

This verse closely resembles v. 14, which see.

Place, a generic term for settlements of any kind, which may have to be rendered, ‘where people live.’

In the surrounding region, i.e. in the area (that lies) around Capernaum.
