Jerusalem

The name that is transliterated as “Jerusalem” in English is signed in French Sign Language with a sign that depicts worshiping at the Western Wall in Jerusalem:

While a similar sign is also used in British Sign Language, another, more neutral sign that combines the sign “J” and the signs for “place” is used as well. (Source: Anna Smith)

Translation commentary on Sirach 24:11

In the beloved city likewise he gave me a resting place: The beloved city is of course Jerusalem. Likewise signals that this line means substantially the same as the previous line in verse 10. It may prove helpful to move the name of Jerusalem to this line, and refer back to it as the beloved city; for example, the whole line may be rendered “Yes, he settled me in Jerusalem, the city he loves.”

And in Jerusalem was my dominion: Dominion is “power, authority.”

A model that has similar length for the two lines of this verse is:

• Yes, he settled me in his beloved Jerusalem,
and gave me authority over the city.”
