Translation commentary on Genesis 37:6

Hear this dream which I have dreamed: Hear translates a polite request addressed to the brothers and is equivalent to “Please listen to the dream I had.” In some translations the request for the brothers to listen is expressed as a colloquial call for attention, such as “Hey, you-all; ….”
