The Hebrew and Greek that is translated as “dove” or “pigeon” in English is translated in Pijin with the onomatopoeia kurrukurru. (Source: Bob Carter)
Translation commentary on Leviticus 14:30
And: many languages will find a more appropriate transition word here. Good News Translation, New International Version, New Jerusalem Bible, and New American Bible all have “Then” at the beginning of this verse.
He … he: the first pronoun denotes the priest, while the second refers to the person who is to be purified. In many cases it will be better to use the nouns rather than the pronouns in order to distinguish them.
